Mon 20th December
Day 469
1Y 3M 12D |
Nanna came round and any idea of sleep for the lad went out
the window. In fact he did manage one hour's sleep at 1:00pm.
All in all a good day. We managed some rolling from front to
back and lots and lots of posting small items into containers.

Sun 19th December
Day 468
1Y 3M 11D |
We went to Nathan's Thursday playgroup's Christmas party. It
was well organised chaos, Santa turned up on time and there
was lashings of food. The kids ran around in circles as usual.
Having twice as many parents around only kept them in order
for a short while.
The lad's got a cold. He's snotting our tissue supply out at
great speed but seems cheerful enough.

Sat 18th December
Day 467
1Y 3M 10D |
Nathan went to the Royal Berks Hospital today, but to Buscot
ward only as a visitor.
We think the lad may have said his name, but in his usual style
he only did it once.

Fri 17th December
Day 466
1Y 3M 9D |
Today Nathan's learned to give whatever he's playing with to
you if you ask him, and hold your hand out for it. OK, so he'll
probably snatch it back immediately afterwards, but it's a start.
He can also now play a little three-key toy piano by pressing
the keys down with his thumb. We're still working on the language.
The lad may be getting confused between "quack quack"
(pronounced "cwa cwa" by him) and cow ("caa").

Thu 16th December
Day 465
1Y 3M 8D |
We took a taxi down to the Thursday playgroup. Nathan
had managed to fight sleep all morning, and so by going home time
(2:00pm) he was more tired then he's ever been, past grumpiness.
In fact it's the longest The lad's ever been awake (since 7:10am).
Needless to say Nathan fell asleep on the ride home and slept
for two hours twenty minutes. |
Wed 15th December
Day 464
1Y 3M 7D |
It's official. Nathan is no longer a baby. He's become a little
boy. We packed up some of his baby toys today.
Nathan is also a lucky boy. Grandpa bought him some premium
bonds a while ago and he's just won fifty pounds.
The lad spent something like two solid hours just playing with
his toys this afternoon. All we needed to do was change them
around every twenty minutes or so and he was happy.

Tue 14th December
Day 463
1Y 3M 6D |
The first battle with the MMR jab is over. We await round two.
We're still getting to grips with the new sleeping routine.
Today the lad had an excellent ninety minute sleep at 1:00pm
but he really needs another one at four in order to be his usual
urbane self in the late afternoon. It's the same problem. Nathan
can't bear to be alone, and he fears sleep because he's alone
in his cot. Today Nathan conveniently fell asleep just as he'd
finished his lunch. Of course, he was still in the high chair
at the time.
We had a go at eating a satsuma today. Partially successful.
Nathan peeled and squashed the beastie, but didn't eat much.
There's always tomorrow.
Dad can now walk in his cast. The pain is pretty much gone,
and he's just getting used to having a plastic foot until early
2000.
