Mon 27th December
Day 476
1Y 3M 19D |
Yesterday Nathan experimented with moving forward on his hands
with his left foot and right knee down. Today the lad's launched
himself several times forward onto his tummy, then managed to
right himself to a sitting position by digging his feet in and
pushing backwards with his hands until his feet are under him.
A couple of weeks ago to the day, Dad predicted that the lad
would be crawling in three weeks. It may yet happen.

Sun 26th December
Day 475
1Y 3M 18D |
A nice quiet day compared to the hectic previous two days.
We're slowly introducing Nathan to his treasure trove of toys.
The lad is this close to crawling. He's a lot less wary
of being on his front, and reaches out to such an extent that
he often ends up balancing on his arms and knees. Most importantly,
Nathan wants to crawl, so it can't be long now. His latest attempts
leave him traveling backwards.

Sat 25th December
Day 474
1Y 3M 17D |
Christmas day, and we went off to Nanna and Gramps'
house. Nathan had about three hundred presents, and managed to
open (tear off some of the wrapping from) most of them. Presents
beyond number, and the lad had the opportunity to show off some
of his new skills to the family i.e. blowing raspberries. |
Fri 24th December
Day 473
1Y 3M 16D |
Nathan went to visit Granny and Grandpa and performed
all his new tricks. He handed the things he was playing with to
whoever was nearest, called everything "qua qua" and,
when presented with a music box, proved that he knew exactly what
was going on by starting and stopping the music by opening and
closing the box. |
Thu 23rd December
Day 472
1Y 3M 15D |
A nice quiet day with all three of us at home most of the time.
Nathan's been trying to stand by pulling himself up on his
toy car. The lad also continues to reach behind himself to where
his toys are, until he's virtually on his knees, then push himself
back up to a seated position again.

Wed 22nd December
Day 471
1Y 3M 14D |
Nathan went to visit mum's friends at work today. He charmed
them, of course, although he was silent most of the time, which
was in contrast to the chattering he was doing in the car on
the way to and from work.
The look of delight that comes over his face when something
simple happens, like when mum comes to take him downstairs for
his breakfast, makes every day like Christmas for Nathan.

Tue 21st December
Day 470
1Y 3M 13D |
We went to the dentist today for dad's teeth and the lad was
positively angelic.
When we got home we played "Nathan, give that to daddy
please". The lad's really got the hang of this over the
last few days.
When we hold out a hand and ask for whatever Nathan's holding
he usually stops what he's doing, looks at your hand, and carefully
places the object therein. Sometimes he snatches it back, sometimes
not.
Variations on the theme are for Nathan to give something that's
nearby, or to attempt to throw the item at you because you're
out of hand-passing range, so there's plenty of scope for the
future.
