This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 3rd January
Day 483
1Y 3M 26D
A very quiet day involving nothing more exciting than eating, sleeping and playing.
Sun 2nd January
Day 482
1Y 3M 25D
We went to a family gathering in London. Lots of people were there, and lots of kids including a nineteen and a three month old. After an initial "startled" response Nathan got down to playing with his toys and shouting. The lad was very tired by the time he got home. Too tired to go to bed easily.
Sat 1st January
Day 481
1Y 3M 24D

Up bright and early, Nathan's made a new year's resolution to always be cheerful and he's stuck to it. He's been such a different lad since his hernia operation in September.

At bedtime Nathan's ready to drop. He's no longer the budda boy of old. The lad's constantly shuffling, reaching and leaning and it's making him more tired by bedtime and possibly even helping him sleep better as well.

Fri 31st December
Day 480
1Y 3M 23D
Both sets of grandparents came round for New Year's Eve. Nathan was an angelic cherub all the way through the day, and managed to be particularly good by sleeping soundly as several kilotonnes of fireworks exploded around the house at midnight... and for some reason we still creep around him at night.
Thu 30th December
Day 479
1Y 3M 22D

Nathan continues trying to crawl. He's managing to go backwards now, which means that even if it's not the way he actually wants to go, it's easy to stop and sit after all that hard work.

Wed 29th December
Day 478
1Y 3M 21D
We're still exploring the trove of presents. Today's toy is a caterpillar with eccentric wheels and springs sticking out of the top. When it's moved it plays a tune. Nathan's not one for subtleties here and tends to slam it to the floor with great gusto.
Tue 28th December
Day 477
1Y 3M 20D

Nathan continues to improve his proto-crawling techniques. Today he went on hands and knees for the first time, and held that pose for a few seconds before sitting down again.

Mum's had the flu since the 25th, and Dad caught it last night, just in time for Mum to take over caring for Nathan. With any luck the jab that Nathan had a few weeks ago will mean that he doesn't catch it from us.
