This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 10th January
Day 490
1Y 4M 3D
Nathan's getting so big that his head doesn't look as out of proportion as it once did. The pseudo-crawling continues. There's so much that the lad wants to explore that it can't be long now.
Sun 9th January
Day 489
1Y 4M 2D
Another visit to Granny and Grandpa, and Nathan demonstrated his closeness to crawling. He briefly wobbled on hands and knees before bobbing back onto his bottom.
Sat 8th January
Day 488
1Y 4M 1D

We're trying to get Nathan to feed himself more. In order to avoid total chaos we've been spoon feeding him his dinners and hand feeding him toast and fruit.

To be honest, the toast has been more successful than the fruit. Apart from some partial success with a clementine, most of the fruit ends up on the floor. Still, we'll keep trying.

Fri 7th January
Day 487
1Y 3M 30D

Dad had his cast removed today. The foot feels a bit stiff, but it'll get better, and it certainly will be nice to go swimming with the lad again.

We went to the physiotherapist. She agrees that Nathan is a little behind in development, but there doesn't appear to be anything seriously wrong with him. She's like to see him do more rolling, as Nathan's only big movement currently is to sit up from being dace down by pushing himself backwards. This is apparently a bit stressful on the hip joints. We're going back in a couple of weeks.

Thu 6th January
Day 486
1Y 3M 29D
A much better day today. We went to the Thursday playgroup which Nathan always loves. The lad had a sleep as we were on our way there so we were a bit late getting in. It also meant that Nathan had been awake for seven hours as bedtime approached. He went out like a light.
Wed 5th January
Day 485
1Y 3M 28D

Nathan was a bit tetchy today. We don't know why but he didn't eat much of his food either.

It hasn't affected his growth. The lad's finally grown too heavy for his dad to carry him and do stuff (like make bottles) at the same time.

The lad is now booked for his Tuesday morning playgroup, for a Wednesday morning music and movement session, and for his regular Thursday lunchtime playgroup.

We're also due to see the physiotherapist this Friday afternoon. This is on the suggestion of Nathan's developmental doctor a few months ago.

Tue 4th January
Day 484
1Y 3M 27D

Just Nathan and Dad together again as Mum returned to work after the holidays.

We did lots of throwing toys around and a little light shopping. Nathan's outgrowing his 12-18 month size babygrows, so we're getting him the next size up (18-24m).
