Mon 21st February
Day 532
1Y 5M 13D |
Nanna came and Nathan showed off his waving and clapping.
We're starting to get worried about all this being sick, especially
during the night. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order?

Sun 20th February
Day 531
1Y 5M 12D |
Nathan's temperature was a bit better today. We
went to see the ducks but even though one of them obligingly went
"quack quack quack", Nathan didn't seem to recognise
them. Maybe because they weren't yellow. |
Sat 19th February
Day 530
1Y 5M 11D |
The weather was nice enough to take Nathan for a stroll round
the back garden. There was a marked contrast to the lad's reactions
this afternoon and his reactions the last time we did this in
the autumn of last year. This time Nathan reacted (he didn't
like the water butt and was interested in the shed), last year
he didn't know what to think.
Nathan's got himself a temperature. Calpol brings it down,
but he's still a bit below par.

Fri 18th February
Day 529
1Y 5M 10D |
Two glorious firsts today. Nathan clapped and waved. We had
him clapping, waving, and dancing on request all afternoon.
I think he's very happy to be able to communicate in these new
ways.
Unfortunately he also seems to have caught something nasty.
He's got a temperature, and was a bit out of sorts, alternating
between moods of sickness and happiness.

Thu 17th February
Day 528
1Y 5M 9D |
Nathan figured out how to stack the biggest form of Lego, Primo,
today. He still has his thumb in the bottom of the block when
he stacks it, but managed to slip it out leaving the block stacked.
We did the deed with the suppository, and it seemed to do the
trick. Hopefully we'll be leaving this subject for a while.

Wed 16th February
Day 527
1Y 5M 8D |
There are two hospitals in Reading and we visited both of them
today.
First we went to the Royal Berkshire hospital to see the ophthalmologist.
The news is that the squint (or turn, as they call it) is still
there, but that it alternates, meaning that the lad's vision
is equal in both eyes. They will continue to monitor the situation.
Nathan was also tested for long and short sight. He has neither.
Then (after a nap) we went on to Battle hospital where the
physiotherapist had a look at Nathan. Unfortunately the lad's
pupils where dilated to the maximum after the ophthalmologist,
and Nathan was a bit grumpy, so the session didn't go very well.
This wasn't made any better by Nathan's constipation, probably
caused by too much milk and not enough roughage-containing food.
We're going to try a suppository, and see if it makes Nathan
feel any better.

Tue 15th February
Day 526
1Y 5M 7D |
The lad did some real crawling at playgroup today.
He had a nice sleep at lunchtime but it wasn't really long
enough. Swimming was still fun, but Nathan was absolutely exhausted
by the end of it.
