This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 27th March
Day 567
1Y 6M 19D

Nathan learned some more new tricks today. When we say "hat" he puts his hands to his head, when we say "foot" he puts his hands to his feet.

When the lad wanted more milk he picked up an "empty" and handed it to dad appealingly, when Nanna came he showed her all his toys (it took a while), and Nathan now rolls from being on his back without even being asked.

Sun 26th March
Day 566
1Y 6M 18D
Another perfect visit to Dad's family. Nathan slept in the car both ways and did lots of crawling and charming while there.
Sat 25th March
Day 565
1Y 6M 17D

We had visitors today and lad absolutely shone. He smiled and played nicely all the time.

We've also managed to get Nathan to roll over from his back on request, without even the smallest of nudges as encouragement which should please the physiotherapist when we see her on Wednesday.

Fri 24th March
Day 564
1Y 6M 16D

No swimming today, the pool was closed.

Granny came and played with the boy all day. Nathan also learned to to kiss. He holds his mouth half open and pushes it against your cheek. It's a bit wet but very sweet.

Thu 23rd March
Day 563
1Y 6M 15D

Mentioning poo related issues in this diary have a curiously laxative effect on the lad. By the time it's bad enough to merit a mention, it's also about to come to a resolution.

Completely by accident we discovered a new game. Nathan just loves climbing stairs. We start him off four steps from the top, and the lad gets to his feet, puts his knees onto the next step and hauls. He loves it and it tires him out most gratifyingly.

Wed 22nd March
Day 562
1Y 6M 14D
A day, unfortunately, of straining and toothache. There were some nice parts however. Nathan was more independent and explorative than ever before at Jo Jingles' (today's instruments were triangle and cymbals) and ate and slept well.
Tue 21st March
Day 561
1Y 6M 13D

Another champion crawling session at the playgroup, at the DIY shop (well, the swimming pool was closed) and back at home.

We are now also sure that Nathan can recognise and retrieve one of his zebras, in its squashy or realistic incarnations, on request.

The lad is also getting the hang of rolling from his back to his front, and is becoming more interested in the concept of standing.
