This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 3rd April
Day 574
1Y 6M 26D

The lad slept a record two hours this lunchtime.

The stair climbing is going well. The lad still needs a helping hand for his balance, but the power is Nathan supplied. We usually stop after about five goes, although Nathan could keep it up for longer. His current record is six steps with minimal help.

Sun 2nd April
Day 573
1Y 6M 25D

Mum felt a bit better today. Nathan was feeling energetic, he managed to push to a standing position when something particularly interesting was just out of reach.

On a whim, we asked Nathan to lie down. He understood, and bent over until his head touched the floor. We then managed to progress to rolling Nathan over on to his back, whereupon he rolled on over to his front again, to much applause.

Sat 1st April
Day 572
1Y 6M 24D
Nathan had a good, if still slightly cold-stricken day. Mum wasn't so lucky, she's not feeling too well, probably with the same bug that the lad's picked up.
Fri 31st March
Day 571
1Y 6M 23D

Nathan's cold meant he couldn't go swimming, so we went shopping instead.

In the afternoon Nathan had his first, brief, crawl outside. It made a change from throwing his toys out through the patio doors.

Thu 30th March
Day 570
1Y 6M 22D
Not the best of days. Nathan had teething pains, a cold, and constipation. He sorted the last out by the end of the day, thank goodness, but it wasn't much fun for him.
Wed 29th March
Day 569
1Y 6M 21D

Nathan enjoyed Jo Jingles, we had wooden blocks and tambourines. The lad didn't think much of the instuments, but loved the streamers.

After a spot of lunch in town we went to the physiotherapist. She was very happy with Nathan's progress. Nathan actually stood (while holding onto something) for about thirty seconds, for the first time ever! She was also pleased with Nathan's rolling abilities.

Later that day (and we're not sure that this actually happened, it was obscured by a large toy) Nathan fell over backwards, rolled over as quick as a flash and resumed playing.

Tue 28th March
Day 568
1Y 6M 20D

After playgroup in the morning, and a ninety minute sleep, we went swimming. Nathan steers by dipping one shoulder down but he only likes to steer left at the moment.

One of the lad's books is of children pulling funny faces. We've always done the faces while reading the book to Nathan, and today he started joining in.
