This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 29th May
Day 630
1Y 8M 21D
Nathan went to see Nanna and Gramps today. He had a great time, and showed off all of his skills, making the noises of many animals, and generally was charming throughout.
Sun 28th May
Day 629
1Y 8M 20D

We went to Wylde Rainforest today. A bunch of greenhouses emulating a tropical rainforest. Nathan was much more interested in the other people than the plants and animals.

A first today, Nathan got down from a standing position by bending his knee. That's something we've been trying to get him to do for a while as the lad's previous technique was to do the splits.

Sat 27th May
Day 628
1Y 8M 19D

We went to Wembley to visit Granny, Grandpa and uncle Adrian. Nathan wasn't on top form. It looks like he's catching a cold, and has constipation.

We did have another go on some swings though. The lad's starting to get the hang of them.

Fri 26th May
Day 627
1Y 8M 18D

Granny looked after Nathan while dad and uncle Adrian went house hunting. The lad started the day off a little miserable, due to constipation, but later on this cleared and Nathan was a happier chap altogether.

Additions to "what sound does a ...... make" are Elephant (along with the arm imitating a trunk) and a dog, sometimes.

The Pediasure went down very nicely. It's 200 calories per 200ml, compared to 140 calories for Nathan's usual tipple, Milipa Forward.

Thu 25th May
Day 626
1Y 8M 17D

Nathan went to see his consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital today.

In general she was happy with his progress, she hadn't seen him for a year, and was very struck by his progress.

She's prescribed lactulose for the lad's constipation, and a special milk substitute called Pediasure with extra calories to deal with Nathan's weight loss (down to 8.14kg - 17lb 15oz). He has grown a couple of centimetres to 76.2cm (30 inches).

We also discovered that the surgeon at Oxford had noted that one of Nathan's testicles was still inside him. We had though that it was just a little higer than the other. No change of plan there, just some more information for us.

Wed 24th May
Day 625
1Y 8M 16D
We went to music group and Reading town centre today. Nathan enjoyed himself at both. The constipation is back but he seems to be getting used to it.
Tue 23rd May
Day 624
1Y 8M 15D

We explained how we turn the lights on in the evening today, and Nathan went yeah! like he understood perfectly.

The lad has added a new animal sound to his repertory. It's that of a lamb going baaah.
