This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 12th June
Day 644
1Y 9M 5D

Nanna came to visit and the boy went wild. He was spinning round on the floor, rolling over, all in a fit of pure joy.

Nathan's getting cleverer. You ask him what song he's like to sing, and he choses from "Row Row Your Boat", "Old MacDonald", or "Three Little Monkeys".

Day 643

We went to visit Granny and uncle Adrian. A relaxed sort of day, but that drive back home at five in the evening means that Nathan has a nice sleep just before bedtime. He really doesn't want to wake up when we get home, and he doesn't want to go to sleep an hour later.
Sat 10th June
Day 642
1Y 9M 3D

We went to Woodley Carnival and Nathan picked up not one but two balloons.

The lad's started requesting particular songs, but only to those who know what he's talking about. For example, when he says "Nor nor", He wants the Monkey song.

Three little Monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
Mummy phoned the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed.

The "Nor nor" is for "No more"

Fri 9th June
Day 641
1Y 9M 2D
Grandma had Nathan for most of the day. He had a lovely day, and charmed her to bits.
Thu 8th June
Day 640
1Y 9M 1D

We went to Sainsbury's in the morning and had a good old shop. Then we popped along to playgroup and Nathan immersed himself in cars and Lego (he's still car crazy). Later in the afternoon we went to a friend's barbecue and Nathan had a go in the paddling pool (hated it) and in the sandpit (took a while, but ended up loving it).

We've made some lists...

Wed 7th June
Day 639
1Y 8M 30D
We went into Basingstoke today, for dad see the dentist as well as to do some shopping. We had lunch in a cafe, the lad munching on some baguette bread. Then Nathan obligingly fell asleep, and dad did some real shopping. It was a great day (filling aside).
Tue 6th June
Day 638
1Y 8M 29D

We went to playgroup and Nathan played.

Later we phoned Nanna, and the lad had a word with her. Nathan's taken to spouting 10 or 20 words in a row in what sounds like a deaf person speaking a foreign language. He's been doing it for a couple of days, but we wouldn't have noticed but for Nanna noticing.

Later in the day mum asked Nathan if he'd like to sit on her lap. The lad held his hands out smiling.

New animal noise is "eek eek" for a mouse.
