Nathan was weighed today, and it was a bit of a shock to discover
that he's 8.58kg (18lb 14½oz).
He's lost a couple of ounces over the last month.
The health visitor didn't seem too worried. She said that the
scales might be calibrated differently, and that if the lad's
been more active (he has) then that might explain it.
She mentioned something else of interest too, that iron supplements
can cause constipation, and that's certainly what Nathan's been
suffering from for ages.
She only mentioned it because she was a witness to one of the
lad's many nappy changes today, and saw the colour of the "stool".
A dead ringer for iron constipation. She had a word with a doctor,
and we're now going to try giving Nathan his iron supplements
every other day, rather than daily.
The health visitor also said that vitamin C helps the body
to absorb iron, and that if we can manage to give the lad some
watered down orange juice, than his might also help the problem.
Consider it done.
We went to visit Nanna at Odds
Park Farm. Nathan enjoyed it, as he always does. Today he
had a lot of fun climbing in and out of those "Fred
Flintstone" cars (for the first time).
