This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

Mon 14th August
Day 707
1Y 11M 7D

Nanna came to visit today. Nathan was on form, cavorting around, and acting like he understands everything.

We've got a baby walker that the lad has never really got on with. In the last few days he's worked it out. His problem was that he always went backwards. Now he can stand up in it and go forward. His face positively shines at the achievement.

Sun 13th August
Day 706
1Y 11M 6D
Another good day, though we're starting to get worried that the lad hasn't had a poo since Wednesday. He's getting heavier every day. We've got a doctor's appointment booked for Tuesday.
Sat 12th August
Day 705
1Y 11M 5D

Uncle Adrian moved house (to Reading) today and three generations of Windisches helped. The lad surveyed the layout of all the rooms at a low level.

Nathan ate loads of apple and bread today, and was extremely active.

The two words sentences are becoming more common, e.g.
Mum: Where's dad
Nathan: Daddy showler (in the shower)

Fri 11th August
Day 704
1Y 11M 4D

Granny came to visit today. For a couple of hours before she came the lad had been saying "Granna".

About a week ago Nathan carried a book upstairs and put it in his cot. We've started alternating them and last night it was a book about Freddy Frog. When mum went into his room in the morning, he greeted her with a frog impression. He'd been reading it while waiting for us to get up.

Thu 10th August
Day 703
1Y 11M 3D

We went to Beale Park today with the Thursday toddler group. We had lovely weather, and everyone really enjoyed themselves.

Nathan had loads of goes on the slide, made loads of sand castles, crawled all over the place, and fell asleep on the train ride.

Wed 9th August
Day 702
1Y 11M 2D

A friend visited and after we'd played at our house, we went into Reading for a shop.

It's a struggle getting the lad to drink his orange juice (watered down). Someone suggested apple juice, so we'll give it a try.

The car mania continues. Nathan spotted a yellow car, and decided it was a taxi as he has a picture of a New York taxi in one of his car books.

Tue 8th August
Day 701
1Y 11M 1D

We went to visit Nanna today. We had a nice car ride both ways, and on the way back Nathan spotted a Mini (car) parked at the side of the road. He's going to know the names of all the cars before he's three.
