This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.
Mon 19th February
Day 896
2Y 5M 12D
Nanna came today and Nathan had a great time. He's still eating well and when the weather's good we wrap up warm and play in the garden, so he's getting lots of exercise.
Sun 18th February
Day 895
2Y 5M 11D

A day for visiting Granny and Grandpa, but first the lad came up with an eight word sentence
"In the living room the teapot lid is".

We enjoyed our visit to Wembley, Nathan making use of the fine weather to mess about with watering cans in the back garden.

Sat 17th February
Day 894
2Y 5M 10D

Today we went to Bekonskot model village on its opening day, the first time since last September and an opportunity to compare Nathan then and now. Back then the lad was three days away from his first step. Today he walked for at least half the time we were there, and we were there for three hours.

Nathan and his friends loved it. It's not quite as educational as Odds Farm Park, but very enjoyable.

Fri 16th February
Day 893
2Y 5M 9D

First we went swimming, at the new pool in Earley. Nathan didn't exactly love it, but by the end he was at least sitting at the water's edge splashing about. Perhaps he'll enjoy it more as he gets more used to it.

Then granny came, and Nathan had a lovely time, at one point shouting to dad "get in kitchen" because he was detracting from the experience, bless him.

Thu 15th February
Day 892
2Y 5M 8D
Today we went to London to see a little cousin. They weren't terribly interested in each other, but as we see them more we hope they'll become good friends.
Wed 14th February
Day 891
2Y 5M 7D
We went to Hickory Dickory dock today, then on to a little friend's. Nathan enjoyed himself at both, and ate well into the bargain.
Tue 13th February
Day 890
2Y 5M 6D

We went to Silverdale Road toddler group today, then in the afternoon we went to a new little friend who lives fairly close to us. We played with toys including Play-Dough and Lego, read a book, and watched Bob the Builder.

When mum came to ask the lad what he'd done today, he insisted that he'd gone to Whoosh! When she asked him "So you didn't see (little friend's name) then" he said (something like) "and we didn't watch Bob the builder either".

Yesterday we bought the lad a new type of juice in a carton (the kind with a straw in, it's the only non-milk drink he'll have): orange flavoured. Dad opened it and Nathan decided that he didn't like it, so we now had one carton of apple juice open and one carton of orange juice open. Nathan then asked for "ordinary" Ribena (blackcurrant flavour). Dad thought about it for a moment, then weakened and went over to the shelf. "Joking" cried Nathan with a great big impish smile on his face.
