This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.
Mon 26th February
Day 903

Nanna came today and the lad had lots of fun and didn't sleep. He was a tired little pickle when bedtime came.
Sun 25th February
Day 902
2Y 5M 18D
We went to Granny and Grandpa's for a joint birthday party today. Almost all of the family was there and Nathan got lots and lots of attention. We had a lovely time.
Sat 24th February
Day 901

We visited friends in Winchester today. Nathan very wisely decided that nothing much was going on during the one hour trip and slept both ways. We had a lovely time while there and went out to the local park where we played in the sand pit and on a wooden train.

Nathan has cracked the "my" concept. Whereas previously the lad seemed to think that "my" meant "you", he's suddenly got it the right way round, even thumping his chest for emphasis.

Fri 23rd February
Day 900
2Y 5M 16D

Nathan seems fully recovered from his tonsillitis today.

Granny came to visit and they both had a lovely time.

Nathan's getting a little more independent. He's starting to be able to leave the room that we're in and play somewhere else.

Thu 22nd February
Day 899
2Y 5M 15D

Something not mentioned in yesterday's diary was how heroic Nathan was at the doctor. She put a thermometer under his arm, put a stethoscope all over his front and back, examined his tongue and ears and Nathan bore it all. What a star.

The lad was a little better today. Penicillin doesn't appear to be as fast acting as the antibiotics prescribed before. By the end of the day however, the lad's temperature was back to normal.

Grandpa came to visit (we had arranged to take a trip to London, but we've postponed that) and we all had a lovely time. Highlight of the day was a visit to Uncle Adrian's place of work, a nearby building site (he's a civil engineer).

Wed 21st February
Day 898
2Y 5M 14D

We went to the doctor, and the lad's got tonsillitis! Thinking back on his symptoms, he's probably had it all those times he's been ill since Christmas. In particular we remember how white the lad's tongue was.

Apparently good old Penicillin is the best cure for tonsillitis, so he's being given that four times a day. Nathan's already starting to feel better.

Tue 20th February
Day 897
2Y 5M 13D
Today we went to the library, and then did a little shopping. Nathan, unfortunately, wasn't feeling very well. He's got a bit of a temperature and is a bit clingy. If he's not better by the morning we'll probably take him to the doctor.
