This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.
Mon 19th March
Day 924
2Y 6M 11D

Nathan and mum went off to see Nanna and Grandad leaving dad at home to do some DIY. Nathan had a great time and ate well.

While clearing out a cupboard dad found an oxygen cylinder from the time when Nathan came home on oxygen. We've contacted BOC to get them to take it away. It seems so long ago now.

Sun 18th March
Day 923
2Y 6M 10D

We took a trip to the local DIY superstore (Focus) that just happens to have a pet shop in-house. Nathan really enjoyed looking at the fishes birds and rabbits. He was toddling around some particularly small and cuddly rabbits saying "Hello rabbit, hello rabbit" when a woman walking by said "I don't know which is cuter"

Nathan's getting another tooth through, it's a molar on the top left. His description of the sensation is "dirty" or "sticky". The lad's really getting a bee in his bonnet about "Sticky" things. A hole in a sock, a blemish on the skin are all "sticky" and the lad can get quite upset about it, saying "Oh no, oh no, oh no". We hope that this will pass.

Sat 17th March
Day 922
2Y 6M 9D

A trip to The Thatchers pub made the day most enjoyable.

Nathan's reading prowess continues to grow. He seems to be able to recognise the word "Bus". I say seems because we can hardly believe that the lad can be capable of reading this early.

Fri 16th March
Day 921
2Y 6M 8D

Granny came to to visit and Nathan ran about like a mad thing al day, especially after eating.

We've experimentally taken the lad off Pediasure and it seems to have increased his appetite for food. Now all we have to do is make it "real" food.

Thu 15th March
Day 920
2Y 6M 7D
Nathan went to Cintra Park toddler group today. We also played at home with the Magna Doodle, writing words like Mummy, Daddy, Nathan & Car. Nathan seemed to recognise them!
Wed 14th March
Day 919
2Y 6M 6D
Mum's taken a few days off and so she took him to Hickory Dickory Dock and then swimming. They both had a great time. Nathan was much more independent at Hickory Dickory Dock with mum then he's been with dad. Perhaps because he's just used to dad carrying him around all the time.
Tue 13th March
Day 918
2Y 6M 5D

We went to Maiden Erlegh parent toddler group today. Nathan really enjoyed it and asked to go to toddler group in the afternoon as well.

Instead we went to Whoosh! with friends. They've polished the slide which makes things a little more exciting.

We ate a Kit-kat at Whoosh! and two firsts happened. Nathan took back a piece of chocolate from a smaller friend who was trying to swipe it. He did it without aggression and it was one of the few times that the lad's asserted himself like that. The second was that a larger friend offered to feed him some chocolate, and Nathan agreed. Straight from friend's hand to Nathan's mouth. It was very sweet.
