This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.
Mon 21st May
Day 987

Nanna came today. It was a lovely day and we got the lad's paddling pool out of the box for the first time. At first unsure, Nathan absolutely loved it after a while.

Day 986

The plan was to go to Hyde Park where there was a Japanese exhibition, so we could see uncle Adrian doing his Aikido. Unfortunately the place was a little too large to spot him, about 1,000 times larger than yesterday's family day.
Sat 19th May
Day 985
2Y 8M 12D

We went to the Forbury family day at Forbury gardens. It was great fun, even though it could have been a bit sunnier.

We went on to shop at the Oracle. At this point Dad's watch stopped, so we can only guess that we must have spent three hours in the Disney Shop. Nathan certainly looked at every single item in the shop. He's becoming a bit of a shopaholic.

Fri 18th May
Day 984

Granny came today, and uncle Adrian came to visit as well. Nathan had a lovely day. He zoomed about all day, and was asleep just at his head hit the mattress.
Thu 17th May
Day 983
2Y 8M 10D

A quiet day at home. Nathan was reading one of daddy's books and made up his own story.

"Lady took it away. [She] didn't want it anymore. The end"

Wed 16th May
Day 982
2Y 8M 9D
We went to see the psychologist again today. We've had a fair amount of success with her previous suggestions. Here are the new suggestions.
  • Try crunchy vegetables: Carrot, red pepper, celery, radish, cucumber. Also salami.
  • Try offering pieces of bread and butter & ham and/or cheese instead of sandwiches.
  • Try only taking foods we want Nathan to eat when providing for a snack away from home.
  • As for the constipation (which is probably caused because Nathan is holding it in), reward for a poo: perhaps read from a special book, or a sticker.

After that we went to Hickory Dickory Dock, which was good, as usual.

Then into town for a spot of shopping. Nathan's been sleeping poorly recently. He keeps lying on his arm and sending it to sleep, then waking up crying, so by 3:00pm he was exhausted, and had a fairly horrible tantrum. Everyone in town was sympathetic but it's still a wearing experience, even with the best boy in the world.

Tue 15th May
Day 981
2Y 8M 8D

Today we went to Maiden Erlegh toddler group, then onto Whoosh! with some little friends.

They particularly enjoy putting money into the charity box by the door of the Bracknell Leisure centre as we leave. The box is designed so that the money goes round and round into a whirlpool before disappearing into the hole at the bottom.
