This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.
Mon 28th May
Day 994

The sleepover was a success. Nathan got to sleep at 7:00pm and woke up around 6:00am. After lots of running around and playin on swings he was very tired when he got home.
Sun 27th May
Day 993

Nathan's second sleepover today, this time with Nanna. He seems to be very happy about it, and looks forward to exploring Nanna and Grandad's house in details.
Sat 26th May
Day 992

Today we went to a friend's wedding. Nathan happily decided to tell us "Very nice in here" just as the registrar asked if there was any reason why the wedding should not take place.

The lad happily wandered about the reception room, and was generally confident and happy.

Fri 25th May
Day 991

A holiday from potty training today until after the bank holiday weekend.

Granny came to visit and the lad had a lovely time. He even ate some of the merangue that we made this morning.

Thu 24th May
Day 990
2Y 8M 17D

(Warning: do not read while eating) We bit the bullet today and the nappy came off in the morning. A poo arrived an hour later and Nathan just managed to get on the potty in time. What a clever boy. A friend had told us that one of the things they have to learn is to think about what's GOING to happen, rather than what's just happened.

Later on we went to the shops to get Nathan a big present for being so good (he wasn't really bothered, although it had been promised to him if he could poo in the potty). We also went to get some training pants and a new potty (the current one is too big). It's going to be tough but this could be the end of nappies, as long as we don't go too far afield.

Dad was picking up his messages from the voicemail system. This is accessed by pushing buttons on the phone. Nathan was busy eating "squeezy" yoghourt. When dad put the phone down the lad said "No one there Daddy" because dad hadn't spoken to anyone.

No one there

Wed 23rd May
Day 989
2Y 8M 16D

We went to see the community nurse today. The lad still weighs 10kg (22 lb), so no change. This is surprising, as he seems to be eating so much more.

(Warning: do not read while eating) We're thinking about potty training Nathan. Yesterday he was running around the garden and house wearing only a T-shirt. He did a little poo on the carpet, and was really upset about it.

His nappy has disassociated the lad from the realty of his bodily functions. We're going to have to bite the bullet and see if we can spend a day with no nappy.

Tue 22nd May
Day 988
2Y 8M 15D

We went to Maiden Erlegh toddler group today. Nathan had a lovely time. That sounds like an ordinary sentence, but it's still a new thing for the lad to run around and play without needing dad.

In the afternoon we had friends to come and play. The weather was lovely and much use was made of the sandpit and paddling pool.
