This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.
Mon 4th June
Day 1001

The last day of our mini holiday, We spent most of the day at the beach, and at the amusement arcade, where Nathan is happy to put money into slots until the cows come home.

Day 1000

Nathan was pretty much back to normal today. He's hardly eaten since Wednesday, so we're making an effort to get back to normal in that sense as well.

In the afternoon the lad went paddling, and ate some ice-cream as well.

Sat 2nd June
Day 999
2Y 8M 26D

Our day off from bowling, and we went off to "Alice in Wonderland" family park which is only wonderful if you like having jet planes taking and landing across the road. Alice wore a fleece and the Mad Hatter seemed to be pathologically shy.

Nathan fell asleep after an hour and a half (£16.50 admission) so we went back to the hotel.

Catching up on some sleep was good for Nathan and he was a bit more cheerful in the afternoon, and slept much better through the night.

Fri 1st June
Day 998
2Y 8M 25D

We went down to Bournemouth for a bowling Holiday. Knowing that home was only an hour and a half away made us decide to go, as the lad was no better.

We're staying at the Belvedere hotel, and the beach is only ten minutes walk away. We took the lad down to the seaside, but he wasn't terribly responsive until we came across an amusement arcade with a Postman Pat ride in it. An hour later, and five pounds poorer we were also a lot happier. Nathan coughed all night, however, and none of us got much sleep

Thu 31st May
Day 997
2Y 8M 24D

Still teething, still a temperature, and still a streaming cold, Nathan's not feeling great at the moment, although he has been a bit sparkier today.

We went to see the doctor. She diagnosed tonsillitis so we're back on Amoxycillin after a break of a couple of months.

Nathan's taken to asking questions in the form "What that one ask Daddy". If there's ever an unusual noise then the lad always asks "What that one?"

Wed 30th May
Day 996
2Y 8M 23D
Not the best of days today. Nathan's teething, it's his back teeth, and he's also got a temperature. We're going to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully he'll feel better after that.
Tue 29th May
Day 995
2Y 8M 22D

We had another go at potty training today. Nathan's becoming overanxious about it, and he won't sit on the potty: a bad combination. We tried to get some training pants, or a nappy back on him, but he's fairly insistent that he doesn't use them anymore. The aim over the next few days will be to cool down, get Nathan on better terms with the potty, and have another go in a month or so.

We went to the psychologist to talk about Nathan's diet again. We haven't made great progress since the last visit, so we'll try again over the next six weeks until our next visit. Some more suggestions are to continue with the cooking, but to incorporate savory foods like cheese straws and pizza.
