Day 1015

Nanna came to visit today. When dad returned after going out, they were both hiding in the lad's cardboard castle. Nathan couldn't restrain himself from shouting out.

We went to Granny and Grandpa's house today. Nathan had his usual great time.

Day 1013

Nathan did painting in the morning, we went off to the Thatchers for lunch, and went to Whoosh! for the afternoon.

Nathan's much better playing with other kids now. He was even caught talking to a slightly older child at Whoosh! (we don't know what was said).

The lad pronounced his uncle's name correctly for the first time today. It used to be Ada, then more recently Adriran, now it's definitely Adrian.

Fri 15th June
Day 1012

First we went into Woodley Library to get some more books for the lad, and a quick trip into town. Nathan walked almost all the way. All that walking yesterday seems to have strengthened him.

Then Granny visited and Nathan marched up and down the house joking and laughing all afternoon.

We're having another, more relaxed go at potty training. One of the problems last time was that Nathan's not too happy sitting on his potties (neither his baby bjorn or his "donkey" potty). We've ordered a new one with handles that might help, in the meantime it's possible to distract the lad by reading to him, or doing something else, so that he stays on the potty. It's still early days but Nathan seems to be more willing this time round.

We got a call from the local preschool. Nathan's got a place for two sessions a week starting in September if we want them. We're going in for a trial visit next Thursday to see if he likes it.

Thu 14th June
Day 1011

We went to Bekonscot with the Maiden Erlegh toddler group today. Nathan had a great time, he walked around for hours without complaint, and slept on the coach on the way home.
Wed 13th June
Day 1010
2Y 9M 6D

Nathan was counting things in a book. When he'd finished he said "I counted them".

We went to Hickory Dickory Dock in the morning. Nathan took along his mouth organ to show the teacher. He even gave us a little burst.

We went to Dinton Pastures for a lunchtime picnic, and to meet up with another home dad and his boys. While waiting we met up with yet another home dad, so together we went and played on the slides. It was a lovely afternoon.

Tue 12th June
Day 1009
2Y 9M 5D

Off to Maiden Erlegh toddler group in the morning, then Nanna came to visit (rescheduled from Monday). Nathan had his usual wonderful time, didn't sleep all day, and virtually passed out come bedtime.
