This site is about Nathan Windisch, born 14 weeks premature, he stayed at the Neonatal unit for 15 weeks.

We've got a set of four Tweenies figures. They were originally bubble bath bottles, but as the lad uses Oilatum for his bath, they were empied before he got them.

Anyway, Milo and Bella live upstairs in the bath, and Jake and Fizz live downstairs in the living room. Nathan has taken to conversing with these two. They ask him questions, and he answers them, sometimes showing how clever he is. It's very sweet.

Nathan has also decided that he's his best friend. He keeps telling us "I'm Luke" and "You're Mate" (Nathan's name for Luke's dad). This is all very confusing, so to join in the fun, Jake and Fizz decided that they were Milo and Bella, then Max and Judy (If you don't watch Tweenies then don't bother with this). By bedtime we had our little boy back but strangely, Nathan was more physically adventurous as Luke then as himself.

After a trip to a DIY superstore to get some accessories for our new bathroom, we took a trip to Odds Park Farm. Foot and mouth disease has taken it's toll here. We're not allowed to get close to the sheep, goats or cows, and so rabbits have replaced them as the "touchy" animals.

The day was also rather cold and windy, so there was hardly anyone there. Nathan still enjoyed himself, but we're all looking forward to the return of the old Odds Farm Park.

Day 1067

A quiet day in. Nathan spent a lot of time playing with his train set. He had a good old play with a similar one at toys'r'us the other day, and he suddenly seems more interested in the one at home. He joins and rejouns the carriages together and slowly moves them along the track.

Granny came to visit today, and Nathan had his usual great time.

Cintra park Dad's group was down to two dads again today, oh well.

We went to Toys'r'us for a scout around for birthday presents. We came away with 28 suggestions, half of which were car related.

Wed 8th August
Day 1064

We spent a lazy morning at home and in the afternoon a friend took the lad to Whoosh.

He's gone with them before, but not without a tear or two. Today Nathan climbed into his car seat, and waved goodbye with a smile.

Tue 7th August
Day 1063

Nathan was signed off by the opthalmologist this morning. The squint has gone.

While at the hospital, we popped in to the orthotic department to see if we could pick up the lad's new shoes. We could, and they're a lovely blue colour this time. A change from the previous shoe's red.

Then a quick visit to Buscot to say hello.

Caution, do not read if squeamish: In the afternon we picked up a friend and went swimming. Nathan enjoyed it, but kept wanting to do a poo in his trunks. Finally dad could not longer distract the lad from doing what he had to do, so we had to leave the pool rather quickly. On the way home Nathan complained that his bottom hurt. Later that day, Nathan did another poo. We have an agreement that the lad gets stickers for big poos. Nathan hasn't done a big poo for ages so, as an experient dad gave him a sticker for a small poo. Minutes later the motherload arrived. Nathan mentioned that his bottom didn't hurt any more.

After swimming we went to a friend's hous for a play. Needless to say after all this activity, the lad went to sleep without a struggle.
