famous novel from this village. There is a 13th
to 14th century church noted for its carved nave pillars.
Some 2500 acres of the neighbouring treeless Chiltern
Hills are National Trust property and include the fine
viewpoint of Ivinghoe Beacon. Pitstone Post Mill is
a completely restored building, which dates from 1627
and forms a local landmark .
